Health Careers Program (HCP) Overview
The Health Careers Program supports high school and college students in exploring and preparing for careers in healthcare. Whether you’re certain about becoming a healthcare professional or just beginning to explore your interests, HCP provides mentorship, resources, and real-world experiences to guide you.
Our Health Careers Programs strive to increase the number of students entering the health professions in South Carolina, especially in rural and medically underserved communities.

Year-round program with monthly sessions, speakers, and interactive activities to help students explore the healthcare workforce and develop academic and professional skills.

Spend a week on the campus of the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC to learn more about the next steps in pursuing a health career. The Summer Health Careers Academy is designed to help students, especially from rural and medically underserved communities, prepare for entry into health professions programs in South Carolina.
Parents, Educators, & Volunteers
HCP also partners with schools, community organizations and volunteers to enhance student learning, provide speakers or presentations, and offer collaborative service-learning projects.
