@ Email Ashley | Ashley has been at Lowcountry AHEC since May 1997. She is the finance assistant. Her duties includes payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable. Ashley works with insurance agents, auditors and accountants to make sure finances are running smoothly. She also assists with other projects as needed at Lowcountry AHEC. |
Diana Caron, M.Ed., BHS, RN, CHCP, Continuing Professional Development Coordinator | |
@ Email Diana | Diana Caron has been a Registered Nurse since 1986. She was a clinical ladder level 3 nurse in Obstetrics until 1997. She then developed and instructed a state approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program in Connecticut and then in South Carolina with her students experiencing a 98% success rate on the national NACES exam. Diana received her master’s degree in education in 2006 and was faculty in the college setting until 2009. She returned to the clinical setting as a Staff Development and Infection Control Coordinator for an additional three years. She has been employed by Lowcountry AHEC since 2013. Her duties include but are not limited to: conducting needs assessments, assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating continuing education programs for all health care disciplines. |
Jasmine Douglas, BS, CHES, Continuing Professional Development Coordinator | |
@ Email Jasmine | Jasmine has 2 bachelor degrees, one in Sociology from Claflin University and a BS in Health Promotion from Charleston Southern University. She is a Certified Health Education Specialist. She has worked with the MUSC Wellness Center as a Lead Camp Counselor as well as a Peer Educator for the Lowcountry Pregnancy Center. Her duties at Lowcountry AHEC include: conducting needs assessment as part of the Lowcountry AHEC continuing professional development team; assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing and allied health programs; and identify nursing continuing education event resources to include instructors, & venue sites. |
Jalacy Green, MHA, Health Careers Program Coordinator | |
@ Email Jalacy | After graduating from Colleton County High School, Jalacy earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health from Coastal Carolina University. Jalacy also holds a master’s degree in Health Administration from Capella University, where she graduated with distinction. Jalacy gives back by volunteering in the community, working with high school students to increase their awareness of getting accepted into college, as well as athletics in college. She also volunteers as a track and field throws coach at Colleton County High School. She has received several athletic awards in college, including Thrower of the year, Women’s Big South Indoor Championship, and Presidential Honor Roll throughout her years in college. Previously, Jalacy was a Foster Care Case Manager for the Department of Social Services. As the Health Careers Program Coordinator, Jalacy is responsible for providing activities, programs, and other sessions for high school, and undergraduate students who are interested in healthcare professions. |
Kimbley Stephens, MS.Ed., Health Professions Student Coordinator | |
@ Email Kim | Kim is one of two health professions student coordinators at Lowcountry AHEC. In that role she coordinates the clinical rotations of multiple disciplines of health professions students. She oversees student clinical placements, housing placements, and preceptor assignments. In addition, she assists students with continuous quality improvement projects. She also works with MUSC interprofessional programs such as Interprofessional Service Learning Project (ISLP) and Rural Interprofessional Student Experience (RISE). Kim is a National Health Service Corp Ambassador. Prior to AHEC, she worked at Low Country Health Care Systems, Inc. in Fairfax as a health educator. She has been employed at Lowcountry AHEC since December 2007. |
Emily Warren, LMSW, Health Professions Student Coordinator | |
@ Email Emily | Emily received a BS in psychology from the College of Charleston in 1993 and a MSW from The University of South Carolina in 1995. She has been employed with Lowcountry AHEC since July 2000. She interfaces with South Carolina academic institutions to assist with identification of preceptors and clinical rotation sites. She coordinates housing and introduces Lowcountry AHEC students into the rural community. Emily facilitates the Interprofessional Service Learning Project (ISLP) in Charleston with Medical University of South Carolina students. She assist with the planning and implementation of Rural Interprofessional Student Experiences (RISE). She is an active member of Eat Smart Move More Colleton and serves on the Low Country Healthy Start Consortium Board. Emily is a National Health Service Corp Ambassador. |
Tracey Wilson, Administrative and Data Management Assistant | |
@ Email Tracey | Tracey began working at Lowcountry AHEC in August 2010. Prior to this, she was employed at Edisto Pediatric Clinic as a medical office assistant and as an accounts receivable clerk at Clean Management in Walterboro. Her duties as the Administrative and Data Management Assistant include reception, data management of the South Carolina AHEC database, and assisting CE, HPS and HCP coordinators. |
Kelly Wynn, American Heart Training Center Coordinator and Continuing Education Program Assistant | |
@ Email Kelly | Kelly began working at Lowcountry AHEC in June 2007. As Training Center Coordinator for the American Heart Association, she serves as the contact person for those who need BLS, ACLS, or PALS courses. As the Continuing Education Program Assistant she assists the Continuing Education Coordinators in all areas of program logistics including planning, implementation, and evaluation. She, her husband, and 2 children moved to South Carolina |
LaRonda Johnson, Health Careers Program Coordinator | |
@ Email LaRonda | LaRonda has over twenty-five years (25) of combined experience working in training, K-12/ higher education, and career development. She has worked in rural health since 2017, focusing on practice improvement and program development. LaRonda’s community involvement includes advocating for the underserved in health and education. Her current passion projects include supporting historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) in South Carolina. She also serves as the Chair of the Board for the Voorhees Center of Excellence in Educator Preparation and Innovation. She holds graduate and undergraduate degrees in education and counseling. |
