Student Housing
Lowcountry AHEC provides co-ed housing to health profession students placed in the Lowcountry AHEC service area. Housing is not guaranteed. Housing is on a first come, first serve basis with in state institutions having priority.
Lowcountry AHEC has 4 student houses/apartments serving 9 of our 12 counties. Student housing is located in Bamberg, Beaufort, Orangeburg and Walterboro.
Bamberg House
The Bamberg Apartment serves Bamberg County, Barnwell County (approximately 30 minutes to Barnwell clinical sites), Allendale County (approximately 35 minutes to Allendale/Fairfax clinical sites), and Hampton County (approximately 40 minutes to Hampton/Varnville clinical sites). The apartment is 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. It can accommodate up to 6 students comfortably.
Beaufort Apartment
The Beaufort apartment serves Beaufort County and Jasper County (approximately 35-45 minutes to the clinical sites in Ridgeland/Hardeeville clinical sites.) The apartment is 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. It can accommodate up to 6 students comfortably.
Walterboro
The Walterboro House serves Colleton County and Hampton County (approximately 30 minutes to the clinical sites in Hampton County). The house is 3 bedrooms and 2 ½ baths. It can accommodate up to 4 students comfortably.
Orangeburg
The Orangeburg house serves Orangeburg County and Calhoun County (approximately 30 minutes to the clinical sites in Calhoun County). The house is 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. It can accommodate up to 3 students comfortably.
